My hard drives have started to run low on space recently (something to do with videos and games), and I wanted to know where my disk space was going on my primary drive so that I could remove the largest, least used programs. So I went and consulted with the great oracle of the internet for some decent software to help me discover what folders consumed what space.
I was very disappointed with the answers the great oracle gave me. Some cost money (how can you charge for a program that should take no more than 2 days to write?), whilst some were beyond useless. Eventually I found a program called WinDirStat on Sourceforge, which was free and has this awesome Pac-man animation, but sure is taking its own sweet time to scan my hard drive for files.
But really, how hard can it be to scan a drive for files and show a useful listing of what percentage of my drive they are using?
